When a GP signs a certificate or report, it is a condition of the Medical Register that they only sign what they know to be true.

In order to complete even the simplest of forms, the doctor may have to spend some considerable time checking a patient’s medical record.

This is why we have to charge for these services as it is not part of the NHS provision and it can take some time to complete.
